Joan wrote for the 45th Reunion Memory Book in September 2004 plus recent additions:
I was born in Rosebush, MI on 17 Sep 1941 with a family of nine children. Graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, MI., 1959. Started in the medical field 1964 as a nursing assistant.
Career - I have been married twice. I have 4 wonderful Children, 1 Stepson, 9 Grandchildren, 4 Stepchildren, and 1 Great Grandson.
For the past 31 years I have worked for the US Government. I was a nursing ass’t, head cashier commissary, supply clerk, and finally 28 years as a Dental Ass’t, Administrative, working at Army Bases, the last was Ft. Bragg, NC. I completed some more of college, getting Admin degree. I enjoy health care and have retired. I am not married now, but I do have a Significant Other. He is also retired from Special Forces. We make our home in NC.
For the next 45 years, I plan to travel, maybe work part time in a Dental Office, or do volunteer work at local hosp. As we grow in the Military Family we meet so many people and I try to stay in touch with many. So I plan to go and see many of them and my own family along the way. |
