MPHS 1959 Classmate Jesse Castillo

Jesse Castillo is a retired Lansing labor leader.

When he attended the September 1999 Class
of 1959 Reunion this picture of Castillo was taken at the Mt. Pleasant Country Club dinner Reunion finale.

     Jesse underwent major back surgery in March (2004). There was a risk of paralysis. A 15 inch abdominal incision was made to insert a cage between two lower spinal disks. Castillo said he had arthritic problems. In May he had to go back to the hospital for a serious abdominal infection.
     Jesse said in July 2004 that he is recovering nicely although more doctors visits are scheduled. He has been retired for several years from what he described as a hectic workpace; the phone was always ringing and his pager was going off.
     Jesse and his wife Judy attended the 45th Class Reunion September 17-19, 2004.
