A 7:00 dinner time is scheduled. The 3 entrees have been determined. Kay will MC a short program. We will have 50's, 60's cds playing in the background. |
| 7. Sunday Breakfast Gathering: For those interested, we will meet at the Big Boy Restaurant (on Mission just south of the Embers) around 10:00 a.m. They have a hearty breakfast buffet or one can order from the menu. They have a nice Garden Room (inside) which usually holds larger parties. All restaurants are normally busy at this time with church and casino people. We will just have to make the best of it. If it is a beautiful day, we could continue conversations at one of our local parks. We can decide that over breakfast. |

| Riverwood Golf Resort in southwest Mt. Pleasant where the MPHS Class of 1959 held its 45th Reunion Dinner September 18, 2004. Almost 100 classmates and spouses attended what was probably the most successful reunion ever held by our class. Riverwood is at the location of what we knew as Moss's Golf Course in the 1950's, a family that included our classmate Dan Moss who died in Flint in 1996. |

| I’m a late comer to the reunion committee. I’m warning you; don’t say you would like to help, because they take you seriously. I simply asked if anyone was doing the book (last done in ’89) that gave us information about everyone. They asked “would you help?”, then “would you do it?” And so here I am, with a stack of questionnaires waiting to be stamped and mailed, eagerly anticipating your responses by July 4th. Then I have two months to put your information into the book, get it printed and bound and try to work in some summer vacation. The completed Memory Book will re-acquaint us with those young kids we stood beside in 1959, waiting to change the world. We will know where they are now, and what has been meaningful to them. While compiling the questions, I simply asked what I wanted to know. I hope you agree. This year is the first time I have attended the class reunion. I figured if I waited much longer I would be too old to walk into the room. This decision is just another monumental decision my husband Chuck, and I have made in the last two years. After 38 years in a little town where Chuck was the band director and I was office manager/marketing and community enrichment director for the local school district, I finally decided to retire. Along with that decision was one to move and so we purchased a home in Kalamazoo and moved the day after I retired. I had worked at a job here for 6 weeks when my daughter’s nanny quit and I decided to again quit a job and become the ‘granny nanny’ for two of our grandchildren (I had sworn years ago I would never be a nanny for the gkids). We will have 6 grandchildren by reunion time (a 6 yr old, two 5yr olds, a 3 yr old and babies 6 months and 2 months). I can’t wait to see everyone at the reunion. A whole life time has passed since we last stood together. --Mary Ann Backus Birch |
